Volvo Buses obdržela objednávku na 250 autobusových podvozků od angolského ministerstva dopravy. Autobusy nudou vyrobeny v Brazílii a dodávka bude zahájena na podzim.

Konečný zákazník, městská společnost v Luandě TCUL, Transporte Colectivo Urbano de Luanda, má pozitivní předcházející zkušenosti s autobusy Volvo. V letech 2001 a 2002 dodalo Volvo 100 městských autobusů pro TCUL.

Objednávka je na robustní šasi Volvo B7R vyrobené v Curitibě v Brazílii se sedmilitrovým motorem EURO 3. Nástavby budou vyrobeny také v Brazílii spolupracující společností Busscar.

Order for 250 Volvo buses to Angola

Volvo Buses has received an order for 250 bus chassis from the Ministry of Transport of Angola. The buses will be manufactured in Brazil and delivery will commence in the autumn.

The final customer, the municipal company of Luanda - TCUL, Transporte Colectivo Urbano de Luanda, has positive previous experience of Volvo buses. In 2001 and 2002, Volvo delivered 100 city buses to TCUL and the company has now been entrusted to deliver an additional 250 city buses.

The order is for Volvo’s robust B7R chassis, with Volvo’s fuel-efficient seven-liter engine, which complies with the stringent emission standard in accordance with Euro III. The chassis will be manufactured at Volvo Bus’s plant in Curitiba, Brazil.

The bodies will also be manufactured in Brazil by Busscar, a company with which Volvo Buses has had a well-functioning cooperation for many years. The first buses will be delivered from Brazil in September 2008.

“The bus market is growing fast in Angola and the product we have offered is well adapted to the demands and traffic conditions” says Anibal Barbosa at Volvo’s importer in Angola, Auto Sueco. “The additional bus order from TCUL will further strengthen Auto Sueco’s involvement in the efforts of the Government to create a reliable public transport network in Luanda.”
