V dôsledku vysokého nárastu predaja počas posledných rokov sa budova v De Vest vo Valkenswaarde stala pre spoločnosť neatraktívnou.
Navyše, staré sídlo bolo nevyhovujúce na udržanie požadovanej úrovne kvality a služieb. Nová budova poskytuje spoločnosti VDL Parts všetko potrebné na ďalšie rozvíjanie ponuky služieb.
Nová budova, s viac ako 15 000 m2 skladovacích priestorov a viac ako 1000 m2 kancelárskych priestorov ľahko pojme všetkých 35 zamestnancov a 22 500 rôznych súčiastok. Pre porovnanie: starý sklad mal celkovú rozlohu 5000 m2. Z logistickej perspektívy sa môže vysoko zvýšiť efektivita a výrobky tiež môžu byť lepšie triedené.
VDL Parts dodáva náhradné súčiastky pre autobusy verejnej dopravy, zájazdové autobusy, podvozky a podvozkové moduly pre rozmanitú produkciu spoločností VDL Bus & Coach. V súčasnosti VDL Parts dodáva diely pre VDL BOVA, VDL Berkhof Valkenswaard, VDL Berkhof Heerenveen a VDL Bus Chassis.
Dodávať bude tiež súčiastky pre popredajné aktivity ďalších spoločností VDL Bus & Coach, ktoré sa v blízkej budúcnosti zjednotia.
Since September 2008, VDL Parts has been operating from its new facility in De Run industrial estate, at a central location along the A2 in Veldhoven. As a result of the greatly increased sales during the past several years, the company had outgrown the building on De Vest in Valkenswaard. Moreover, the old location was no longer adequate to meet the desired quality and service levels. The new building provides VDL Parts with everything needed to further optimize its service offerings.
The new building, with over 15,000 m2 of warehouse space and more than 1000 m2 of office space, can easily accommodate all 35 employees and the 22,500 different service parts. In comparison: the old warehouse had a total floor space of 5,000 m2. From the logistics perspective, efficiency can now be greatly improved, and all the product groups are better sorted as well.
In May 2008, VDL Parts became the first VDL Bus & Coach company to switch to SAP, an integrated information and management system within which business processes can be defined and managed. The ultimate advantage of SAP is that it will enable the logistic, administrative and commercial processes within the VDL Bus & Coach organization to be integrated within a single system. This will allow VDL Parts to serve its customers in a uniform manner.
VDL Parts supplies service parts for public transport buses, touring coaches, and chassis & chassis modules to various VDL Bus & Coach production companies. At present, VDL Parts supplies the service parts for VDL BOVA, VDL Berkhof Valkenswaard, VDL Berkhof Heerenveen and VDL Bus Chassis. In the near future, the supply of service parts for the after-sales activities conducted by other VDL Bus & Coach companies will also be integrated.
