Společnost VDL Bus & Coach dosáhla velkého milníku dodávkou 10000. autokaru BOVA Futura. 10.10.2008 bylo vozidlo slavnostně předáno společnosti Harz-Weser-Werkstätten.

10,000. Futura FLD 104-365 s délkou 10.4 m, 42+1+1 sedadly je vybavena motorem DAF PR 265 S Euro 4. Vozidlo je již 9. Futura FLD pro Harz-Weser-Werkstätten, opět vybavená širokými dveřmi s výtahem pro hendikepované.

Po 26 letech ve výrobě se model kontinuálně vyvíjel na vyšší úroveň. Unikátní je výroba tolika exemplářů téhož modelu po tak dlouhou dobu s tím, že charakteristický design je po celou dobu rozpoznatelný tak , jako v roce 1982.

Delivery of the 10,000th Futura by VDL Bus & Coach

VDL Bus & Coach has reached a major milestone with the delivery of the 10,000th Futura. On Friday, 10 October 2008, this extraordinary coach was handed over by Wim van der Leegte, Chairman of the Board of Management of the VDL Groep, to Harz-Weser-Werkstätten. Director Christoph Lorbacher and Head of the Workshop Heinz-Gundolf Rech travelled to VDL BOVA in Valkenswaard on behalf of Harz-Weser-Werkstätten to receive the keys officially. This festive occasion was also attended by the directors of VDL Bus & Coach, Rémi Henkemans and Henri Koolen, as well as by Director Peter Schmidt and by Uwe Boje, representative of VDL Bus & Coach Deutschland.

The 10,000th Futura is a FLD 104-365 with a length of 10.4 metres, 42+1+1 seats and is fitted with a DAF PR 265 S Euro 4 model engine. This vehicle, which is now the 9th Futura FLD for Harz- Weser-Werkstätten, is also fitted with an extra-wide door with a lift for the handicapped. The shorter 10.4 metre version was chosen for its even better turning circle.

Unique performance

After 26 years in production, the sales figures for the Futura, the classic among coaches in the middle class segment, have remained continuously at a high level. It is a unique attainment in the coach world to produce 10,000 copies of a single model over such a long period of time. The completely characteristic design of the Futura is just as recognizable now as in 1982. Trustworthiness, reliability and comfort combined with a high residual value have made a major contribution to the good reputation which the Futura has established over the years.

Harz-Weser-Werkstätten is a non-profit organization that offers about 1250 adults with a mental or physical handicap the opportunity to integrate professionally and socially into society. This organization offers modified workplaces, special training facilities and various different forms of living facilities.
