Graham’s of Paisley L10: YDS 650S

Jako nový přišel YDS 650S k dopravci Graham’s Bus Service v Paisley (Město Paisley leží ve správní oblasti Renfrewshire ve Velké Británii a žije v něm 73 tisíc obyvatel) na konci roku 1977. V roce 1990 po ukončení činnosti Graham’s, připadla vozidla společnosti Don’s Coaches (Dunmow) Ltd, of Great Dunmow v Essexu. V roce 2005 byl autobus spolu se dvěma podobnými Glasgow Atlantean na prodej. Zachráněn byl YDS 650S 16.8.2005. Pouze s kontrolou oleje a vody a s plnou nádrží statečná stará lady odjela rychlostí 80km/h do Glasgowa. 28 let starý interiér s 78 sedadly byl používán naposledy každý den školáky. 12.8.2006 se vydal autobus na cestu do České republiky, kam dorazil 14.8.2006. V dubnu 2007 byl dopraveny do České republiky odpovídající tóny pro lak ze Skotska. 8. června byl autobus v novém laku. Tabule a čísla byly specielně vyrobeny v Ústí nad Labem společností Marks Signs a doplnily 1.9. exteriér vozu.

YDS 650S was new to Graham’s Bus Service of Paisley at the end of 1977. The bus entered service as No L10, but subsequently, it became L1. When Graham’s ceased trading in 1990, L1 together with other buses from the fleet, passed to Don’s Coaches (Dunmow) Ltd, of Great Dunmow in Essex. At the end of the Summer school term 2005 the bus, along with two similar Glasgow Atlanteans, was offered for sale. YDS 650S passed into preservation on 16th August 2005. With only an oil and water check (and of course a full tank of diesel) the gallant old lady was driven at a steady 50mph (80km/h) to Glasgow, returning a very creditable 12.61mpg for the journey. The interior, has 78 seats and though 28 years old, is a credit to the last owners and the school children they carried every day. On 12th August 2006 L1 took to the road again, departing from Dreghorn, Ayrshire, at 07.00hrs. The journey to Borec. In the Czech Republic was completed in the company of RML883 (TAS466) without incident, arriving at 17.40hrs on 14th August. In April 2007, five litres each of the correct shades of Mason’s paint were obtained whilst in Scotland and taken to the Czech Republic. Preparation and rubbing down commenced on 5th May; undercoat was completed on 30th May; top coat was completed on 5th June. The coach lines took 3 days to apply, being completed on 8th June. Correct vinyl fleetnames and numbers were specially made in Usti nad Labem from Marks Signs, and applied on 1st September, completing the exterior. The livery chosen was, as near as possible, the original ‘as delivered’ colour and layout.
