Španělský nástavbář Irizar obdržel cenu "2011 Coach of the Year in Spain" se svým novým modelem autokaru "i6". Devátý ročník tohoto ocenění, které je v národním měřítku nejvyšší cenou pro autokary v rámci Španělska, pořádaly odborné dopravní časopisy Viajeros and Transporte3. 26 porotců z průmyslu, z řad dopravců, novinářů, institucí a organizací přidělilo ocenění Irizaru "i6" 19. ledna 2011 v Madridu za přítomnosti více než 300 profesionálů.

Irizar obdržel národní cenu 4x, v roce 1995 za model Century, v roce 2002 za PB a v roce 2005 za New Century. Prestižní evropský titul "Coach of the Year 2004" obdržel model PB.

NEW AWARD FOR IRIZAR

IRIZAR receives the "2011 COACH OF THE YEAR IN SPAIN" award with its new Irizar i6 coach model This recognition, established by road transport industry magazines Viajeros and Transporte3, and holds its ninth edition this year, honours the excellence of the new coach models launched to the market and it´s known as the most important coach category award on a national level.

The jury, which was made up of 26 people that included industry technicians, coach operators, journalists, institutions and organisations, decided to grant the recognition for the coach category to the IRIZAR i6.

The awards ceremony took on Wednesday, January 19th, at the Princesa Room of the Husa Hotel in Madrid, with the presence of more than 300 industry professionals that included brands, coach manufacturers, auxiliary industries and the media.

This new award is one more step in IRIZAR´s progression and a direct result of its clear commitment to safety, reliability, innovation and technology to serve its customers, and it reaffirms the Gipuzkoan company as the leading coach manufacturing brand.

This is the fourth time that an Irizar coach receives this award. In 1995, and inaugurating these awards, the Century model received this recognition during the first edition. In 2002, the Irizar PB was the winner, and in 2005, the New Century was named the Coach of the Year in Spain. It´s also worth mentioning the "Coach of the Year 2004" award for the Irizar PB in Europe, and the 2007 Award for the Best Multifunctional Coach in Europe that was given to the Irizar i4 model.

After four years of research and an investment of €20 million, the Irizar i6 was presented to the market at the latest FIAA edition that took place in Madrid during the month of November 2010.
