Dodávka začne v lednu 2008 jsko součást zakázky na 50 Phileasů pro turecký Istanbul. Phileasy budou provozovány pod názvem METROBUS na 35 km trase z Topkapi v centru na Ataturkův letištní areál. Cena vozů a úpravy infrastruktury je okolo 63 milionů EUR.
METROBUS Phileas je 26 metrů dlouhý. Je osazen paralelním hybridní pohonem, kde část výkonu je dodávána přímo dieselovým motorem druhé a zadní nápravě. Elektromotory jsou unístěny do převodů, které jsou v provozu napříkladběhem akcelerace. Zajišťují také sběr rekuperační brzdné energie do baterií. Všechna kola jsou řiditelná, takže má Phileas velkou manévrovatelnost.
Lehká karosérie Phileasu sestává ze sendvičových polyesterových a hliníkových panelů. Vůz je 100% nízkopodlažní. modulární konstrukce umožňuje umístit široké dveře na libovolnou pozici po obou stranách. V Istanbulu jde o osmery dveře - čtvery po každé straně.
Samostatné jízdní pruhy budou vytvořeny ve středu silnice E5 s 15 zastávkami dosažitelnými z lávek pro pěší. První, 20 km úsek, byl otevřen v září 2007.
Pozici vozidel určují magnety ve vozovce, které komunikují s elektronickým systémem vozů. Ten řídí rychlost vozů a jejich zastavení 5 cm od nástupní hrany. Každý vůz může přepravit 39 sedících a 161 stojících cestujících. Ve špičce bude odbaveno při fekvenci 1.5 minuty 8000 lidí za hodinu v každém směru.
celý projekt zahrnující 50 Phileasů budedokončen na konci roku 2008. Do té doby bude zajištěn provoz 35 patrovými autobusy z 50 kusové série na podvozku VDL Bus & Coach a postavenými v Maďarsku. Postupně budou nahrazovány vozy Phileas.

The METROBUS model of the Phileas has a length of 26 metres. It is fitted with a diesel parallel hybrid drive in which some of the power is passed directly from the diesel engine to the second and the rear axle. Furthermore electric motors are built into the transmission which operate if more power is required, for example, during acceleration. These electric motors act as generators during braking and the power is fed back to the battery pack. All the wheels of the Phileas are steerable so that the vehicle is very manoeuvrable.
The light-weight bodywork of the Phileas consists of sandwich polyester panels and sandwich aluminium panels. The floor is 100% low and even. The modular construction makes it possible to place the wide doors at any position and on both sides. The Phileases for Istanbul are fitted with 8 double doors, 4 on each side.
A free bus lane will be constructed in the centre section of the motorway E5 running from Topkapi (Istanbul centre) to beyond the Ataturk international airport, a total distance of 35 km. This bus lane in the centre will be provided with about 15 bus stops which can be reached by pedestrian bridges. The first phase of this route with a length of 20 km was officially opened in September 2007.
Magnets have been incorporated into the road surface of the bus lane. These magnets serve as a reference for the vehicle position. The Phileases are actually equipped with an electronic guidance system in which the vehicle is driven automatically at a certain speed which is determined in advance. The route to be followed is preprogrammed into the computer of the vehicle The bus stops automatically at the bus stop at the exact platform height and up to 5 cm from the side.
About 15 million people live in Istanbul. The city has a lot of traffic and it increases enormously each year.
