V týdnech po premiéře vozidla je to již několikáté prodané vozidlo s hybridním pohonem. Eurobus objednal kloubový autobus pro jednoho ze svých členů - firmu Regionalbus, obsluhující dopravu v Lenzburgu. Švýcaři jsou ekologicky smýšlejícím národem s dostupnými finančními prostředky. Autobus bude dodán na jaře roku 2007. Další odběratelé hybridů se rýsují u německých odběratelů (Brémy, Lipsko).

Solaris Urbino Hybrid představil výrobce na IAA v Hanoveru a Transexpo v Kielcích, kde byl oceněn medailí za nejlepší výrobek. První Solaris Urbino 18 Hybrid byl prodán městské dopravě DVB AG v Drážďanech.

Switzerland’s first hybrid bus will be built in Poland.

Bolechowo, the 22nd of December, 2006 - Switzerland’s largest private transportation company, the Windisch-based Eurobus group, has ordered a Solaris Urbino 18 Hybrid bus. Since the launch of the hybrid bus only a few weeks ago, the bus manufacturer from Bolechowo near Poznan has already received numerous product enquiries.

The Eurobus group has placed an order with Solaris Bus & Coach for an articulated bus with the innovative drive system for one of their partners, the Regionalbus company in Lenzburg.

“The Swiss distinguish themselves by a high level of environmental awareness; apart from that, ecological projects like this are financially promoted in this country. We have planned the delivery of the bus ordered for the end of April, 2007”, says Solange Olszewska, vice president of Solaris Bus & Coach S.A. “We hope to receive further orders in the near future, considering especially our German customers. We are currently negotiating with prospects from Bremen and Leipzig.”

The Solaris Urbino Hybrid, an innovative vehicle with a hybrid drive system, had been presented for the first time at the 2006 IAA for utility vehicles in Hannover. One month later, it was presented at the Transexpo exhibition in Kielce, Poland. There, the Solaris Urbino 18 Hybrid won a prize in the category “best product exhibited”. The first unit was purchased by DVB AG, the Dresden municipal transportation company.
