Visitor-Friendly IAA: Price of Admission Has Remained Unchanged for the Past Decade

Frankfurt am Main, July 28, 2006.

Although everything else is becoming more expensive, the price of admission for the IAA Commercial Vehicles Show has remained stable for the past decade. “We have kept costs down as much as possible in order to offer visitors and guests an attractive exhibition at a very affordable price,” says Prof. Gottschalk, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), which organizes the IAA.

What’s more, the price of admission for special visitor groups has remained unchanged as well. The normal weekend ticket costs only ten euros, and families can save money by buying a family ticket that allows two adults and three children to enjoy the full motor show and activities program for 20 euros. On weekdays, the day ticket costs 18 euros.

During the entire IAA, big savings are also offered to students, conscripts and young people performing alternative national service. Their tickets cost just five euros, as do those for children ages six to 14. Disabled people (80 percent disability or higher) and an accompanying person will continue to be admitted free of charge.

And people who don’t have the time to spend an entire day at the show can purchase an “afternoon ticket” (valid from 1:00 p.m.) for just eight euros. Visitors who want to experience the full IAA program can do so by purchasing a season ticket for 60 euros that is valid for the entire motor show.

The 61st IAA Commercial Vehicles Show will be held at the Hanover Exhibition Center from September 21 to 28. It is the world’s most important meeting place for exhibitors and trade representatives, as well as for all visitors who want to learn more about innovations from the transportation sector. On an exhibition space measuring 230,000 square meters, approximately 1,400 exhibitors from 45 countries will be presenting the latest commercial vehicle products and services. This year’s key topics focus on innovative drive and emissions technologies, vehicle safety and transport efficiency.

This diverse international presentation is supplemented by a comprehensive supporting program featuring specialist events and forums on current technological, political and economic issues. Visitors can look forward to an even more diverse IAA program on the weekend, when they will discover thrilling demonstrations of safety systems and stunt shows, historical commercial vehicles that took part in the ninth German tour as part of the “World Culture Tour,” and “hands-on” GlobeArt titled “Five Trucks Link the World” by the artist HC Ohl of Munich. In addition, model car fans from all over the world will be attracted to the “Automania” collectors’ exchange.

Admission tickets can now be ordered in advance online from the VDA, at www.iaa.de.
